2月14日にウクライナのゼレンスキー大統領はチェルノブイリ原子力発電所でロシア軍の攻撃を受けたと報告しました。
ゼレンスキー大統領の報告だと、攻撃を受けたのはチェルノブイリ原子力発電所第4号機のシェルター部分で、放射線や核物質を内部閉じ込めるためのカバーが一部損傷したとのことです。
放射能濃度に変化はないとされ、現時点でチェルノブイリ原子力発電所の放射線レベルは平時の水準を維持していると伝えられています
攻撃を行ったのはロシア軍のドローン（無人機）と見られる物体で、攻撃を受けて爆発する瞬間は防犯カメラの映像にも記録されていました。
国際原子力機関（IAEA）もチェルノブイリ原子力発電所への攻撃を確認したと報告しており、被害状況などの情報収集を行っているとしています。

During the night of 13-14 Feb, at around 01:50, IAEA team at the Chornobyl site heard an explosion coming from the New Safe Confinement, which protects the remains of reactor 4 of the former Chornobyl NPP, causing a fire.
